The Second Cold War, also known as Cold War II and the New Cold War, was a state of geopolitical tension between powers in the Western Bloc, which included NATO and its allies, and powers in the Eastern Bloc, which included the Eurasian Union and its allies. Historians do not fully agree on the dates, but a common time frame is from 2024, when the Eurasian Union invaded Ukraine, to 2046, when the Russian Republic was established. The term "cold" is used because there was no large-scale fighting between the two sides, but they supported many regional wars, known as proxy wars.
