The United States presidential election of 2060 was the 69th quadrennial American presidential election, held on Saturday, November 6, 2060. Socialist Party nominees U.S. Senator Steve Xi from Oregon and U.S. Representative Michael Hawkins from Connecticut defeated Green Party nominees Mayor Emma Eleschovsky from New York and political activist Lucas Fisher from Colorado, Libertarian Party nominees U.S. Representative Andrew Manchin from Kentucky and political activist Nathaniel Stebbins from Nevada, and Conservative Party nominees Governor Meghan McCain of Arizona and U.S. Senator Andrew Petersen from South Dakota. Steve Xi became the first person to be elected president on a third-party ticket, as well as the first Asian-American to be elected president.
The incumbent president, Alessandra Mandrini, an independent, was ineligible to be elected to a third term due to term limits in the Twenty-second Amendment to the United States Constitution. In the Socialist field, there were several candidates, with U.S. Senator Steve Xi from Oregon eventually becoming the frontrunner and winning enough delegates to capture the Socialist nomination. In the Green field, there were many candidates, with Mayor Emma Eleschovsky from New York capturing the Green nomination with relative ease. In the Libertarian field, there were many candidates, with U.S. Representative Andrew Manchin from Kentucky eventually becoming the frontrunner and gaining enough delegates to capture the Libertarian nomination. In the Conservative field, there were also many candidates, with Governor Meghan McCain of Arizona eventually gaining enough delegates to win the Conservative nomination. The campaigns focused largely on domestic issues, such as an ongoing refugee crisis in the Southwestern United States, an emerging refugee crisis in Alaska caused largely by global warming, and recent reformation of many of the nation's institutions. Foreign policy issues were also discussed, such as the aftermath of World War III, instability in Europe following the collapse of the European Union, and the implications of the Second Space Age.
Xi won the election in a landslide victory. With 56.49% of the popular vote, he had won the popular vote by the largest margin for a third-party candidate ever at the time.
